I am loving your blog, Ginny, and as I have been reading it, I have been analyzing blog structure and connecting it to my own experience.

A few years ago, on an overseas experience, I sent small group e-mails -- same info, with a bit of a twist given the nature of the small group. I always immediately got a number of e-mail replies.

The next major trip I went on, I set up a blog -- much like yours. I did those same kinds of "e-mails" except in blog format, and I got few replies and few e-mails. I felt really removed from my friends and from the US. But if I neglected to "blog," my husband let me know that people were asking when the next entry was going to arrive!

It makes me wonder if a "my space" site might not be a melding of the two -- the information presented to a large group along with a more personal reply mechanism.

Well, who knows. We'll have to talk about it when you get home. But for now, I am loving your blog. Keep doing good things.

Julie
